OUR DESIGNS

The DNA in our designs is directly related to the Maasai tribe. We pay homage to their exquisite craftsmanship and rich heritage through every piece.

Inspiration is found in patterns, shapes and colors that make up traditional designs, antique ceremonial pieces, and everyday adornments. Our core designs often feature white beads and neutral palettes, dedicated to the all-white aesthetic of the northern Tanzanian Maasai tribe.

We infuse a modern sensibility with traditional techniques to appeal to a wider market, transforming traditional Maasai beadwork from a one-off tourist buy into a stylish piece for a global shopper.  Our core pieces have remained in our collection since the beginning, emphasizing our focus on timeless design and slow practices.

We mindfully refine our collections to showcase the impeccable craftsmanship of our beaders and share with you only the best of what the Maasai so effortlessly create.

our products

Our designs are handcrafted by our talented team of over 120 Maasai beaders. With different hands crafting each piece, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same - although the craftsmanship is so impeccable, it can be hard to tell.

We celebrate the uniqueness of each beader and each design, our pieces are deeply rooted in Maasai culture carrying stories that transcend time and place.

Our Materials

Our materials are sourced both locally and globally and range from upcycled to luxurious. We salvage grain bags for thread called kiroba and use nickel-free and hypoallergenic metals like 14K gold-filled and sterling silver. Plastic containers are cut up and recycled for boning, while butter-soft suede and sterling silver fastenings give our jewelry an elegant finish.
